Camille Doskey Horridge

<<< Return to Memory Wall

Camille Annie Doskey Horridge, born on March 9, 1937 in New Orleans, LA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 1, 2019 at the age of 81 years.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Edward C. Horridge, Jr, her five children; Stephanie A. Rutter (Jimmy), Edward C. Horridge, III (Lauren), Steven M. Horridge (Julie), Bryan P. Horridge (Julie) and Heath H. Horridge (Jen), along with 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Camille was the daughter of the late Yvonne Collins Doskey and Peter Doskey. She is preceded in death by her sister Annie Doskey Couret and brothers William and Charles Doskey. She is survived by her eldest brother, Peter Doskey.

Camille (Mille to her family) fell in love with a handsome New Orleanian and was married at the age of 18. During their 63 years of marriage, Mille’s sole ambition was to be a devoted wife and mother to her husband and children. As such, her achievements are a true success story; for she nurtured and grew a wonderful, loving family based on strong faith, love, devotion, selflessness, kindness and forgiveness. She loved and cared for her family beyond measure and each member was touched by her in a special and personal way. Mille’s mission throughout her earthly journey has long been accomplished, for she leaves behind as her legacy the values that she has instilled in her family that are a testament to her Catholic faith. Mille will be forever missed and always remembered by all of those touched by her love and kindness. She has moved on to her eternal resting place in our heavenly Father’s Kingdom.

Relatives and friends of Camille Horridge are invited to Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd, Metairie, LA on Saturday, January 5th, 2019. Visitation will begin at 11:00am followed by Mass at 1:00pm. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery No. 2 to be held at a later date.
