Steven Michael Armstrong, 68, of Marietta, Georgia, entered our Father’s Heavenly Kingdom on December 31st, 2024, after an eleven-year journey with early onset Alzheimer’s. He was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and friend with a compassionate and enthusiastic soul that never met a stranger. Steve was born on December 10th, 1956, in Atlanta, GA. He was raised, along with his brother, by his loving mother and devoted father.
Steve grew up in Gresham Park, attended Walker High School, and went on to pursue his higher education at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He graduated in 1978 with a BS in Industrial Management, and met the love of his life, Sandra Armstrong.
Following college, Steve began his career with Dresser Industries. After some time in sales, he began to focus his energy on establishing Armstrong Development Company. His true passion for residential home building began when he and his father built Steve’s first family home together. His business thrived over the years primarily due to his kind heart, love for others, charisma and appreciation for quality craftmanship.
Steve celebrated life every single day. He encompassed positivity, true compassion, leadership and a desire to bring people together. He was always the life of the party and made every moment so special. From creating the best memories on family vacations, being the king of “dad jokes,” sandcastles and karaoke, dancing his heart out, admiring classic cars, to cheering on the Yellow Jackets every chance he got, Steve genuinely loved a good time. His laughter was infectious. He exhibited resilience and sacrificial love throughout every step of his earthly journey. He loved the Lord, his wife, daughters, and grandchildren with all his heart.
Steve is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lewis Armstrong, his father, James Edward Armstrong, and his mother, Marilyn Cagle Armstrong. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Ashley Thompson and Courtney Boren (John); grandchildren, Mia Thompson, Eve Boren and Brooks Boren; brother, Jim Armstrong (Carol) and beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Steve will be held at Mt Bethel Church, 4385 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30068 on Friday, January 10th at 11:00 am. A visitation and reception will follow nearby. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Fischer Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation and/or the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, in Steven Armstrong’s name.
