I have long wanted to know if this wonderful man, Gunter Rueb, was still alive so I could try to contact him. I worked for Gunter from 1980 to 1988 as his personnel manager. I left American Zettler only because he gave me the opportunity and support to further educate myself in this field; and he supported my involvement in several EDD organizations, where I served as president in all. This involvement required me either be out of the office and many occasions I had to travel out-of-state. As a result of his support, I attained recognition from the O.C. Board of Supervisors, the state Assembly and Senate, and the Mayor of my city. Ultimately I was offered a position to start up a corporate human resources department for a very large manufacturing company as their Corporate Director of Human Resources, and twice the income. I was extremely elated, and extremely saddened at the same time. Gunter was sorry to say goodbye, but so very happy for me. This wonderful man changed my life to positive growth, and I will forever be grateful. This is what my strongest desire was to tell him what he meant to me. And now, sadly, I find out he passed away last year. I will always have him in my heart and will forever be grateful. I am also so happy knowing he was married to Lotte for many, many years, and his daughter, Angie, gave him grandchildren. I have waited too long to make contact with Gunter, but I have been given this opportunity to express all that is in my heart. Goodbye, Gunter.....rest in peace. God bless.

From the very first time I met Gunter Rueb - more than 30 years ago - I was so much impressed by his kind personality and extraordinary technical competence. Gunter was able to show and patiently teach people how to improve their work. And he was interested in and enjoying so many things beyond business or technics. I will never forget him as a guide for leadership, a supporter for my own business and a likeable Person.

I was already able to get to know Gunter Rueb 40 years ago at one of his visits to Alois Zettler GmbH in Munich. And I have always appreciated him as a highly competent engineer and a friendly and helpful colleague in all discussions and correspondence over the next decades. So I remember very well: At my first visit to American Zettler my flight was delayed by more than 4 hours; nevertheless Gunter Rueb picked me up at LAX airport – at 01:00 (!!!) in the morning, and I could enjoy his hospitality.
I will always remember him with highest gratitude.

Conundrum

Great faith in God
Unselfish in all ways
Nonpareil, yes, I believe nonpareil
Tyrant, no never
Elated when presented new ideas
Requirement was to follow then lead
Kaleidoscope of disciplines
Rather than complain, sitting quietly was the order
Under no condition was an untruth considered
Emanating from the soul was the love for knowledge
Before speaking, all thinking was completed

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Rueb. My deepest sympathies go out to the family. Please know that the family is in my prayers. Mr. Rueb was such a wonderful person to work for. Everyone enjoyed working with Mr. Rueb. His intense passion for details and strong will to pursue the Zettler business was always admired by all. Those who had the opportunity to work with him loved the knowledge he would bring to the table. He made sure we knew we were appreciated and we are truly going to miss him. I will always remember the stories he would tell of China. It was an honor to have known such a great person. With my deepest and heartfelt condolences he will be missed. Big Hugs to the family. My deepest sympathy for the loss of Mr. Rueb. I'm extending my prayers to the family. Hope they find comfort knowing that he is now in the hands of our Lord. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Rueb in 2004 when I started my employment at AZ. He was an exceptionally brilliant man. Most of all he was generous and very kind. We will all miss him.

There was never a man more carrying and kind than Mr. Rueb. He has been on my mind so much lately. I've recently come across holiday pictures where he so graciously invited my family to celebrate with his family. Beautiful Lotte, I pray you are well and strong. To Angie, Mike and the beautiful grandchildren, he loved you all so much. I do not think I will ever know a more beautiful soul than Mr. Gunter Rueb! Godspeed my friend, and I hope we shall meet again someday.

It is hard to say goodbye to such a knowledgeable, kind, respectful, genesis and caring leader. I knew Mr.  Rueb since 1992 when he and Mr.  Moegling visited Hong Kong.  Time fly!  It was 25 years now.  It was my honor know Mr. Rueb and work for Zettler.
