Charles Edwin (Ed) Meador was born November 22, 1940 in Kissimmee, Florida to Myrtle and Charles F. Meador. Ed had three younger brothers, Larry, Michael, and Mark. After high school, Ed attended Rice University in Houston, Texas where he met his first wife Carole Pistole. After graduation, Ed was commissioned in the United States Navy. His service included a tour aboard the USS Orleck (DD-886) within the Vietnam Conflict. Upon leaving naval service, he worked as a CPA in Texas and Louisiana throughout the rest of his life. Ed fathered three sons, Kyle, Bret, and Brook.
In March of 1986, Ed married Marion Rayne English Meador in Grapevine, Tx. Upon moving back to Houma, La, the couple had many years of a loving marriage. In 2021, Marion was diagnosed with dementia, and Ed became her primary caregiver until his death on October 7, 2023. He is survived by his wife, three brothers, three sons, first wife, and two step-sons John and Brent English. He loved services at Grand Caillou Baptist Church in Houma, and hated watching his best friend and wife “disappear” before his very eyes. His hopes were that advancements in medicine will avert dementia, a tragic disease, for future generations.
