Charles E. Brown

<<< Return to Memory Wall

Charles Edison Brown age 89, of West Deptford went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Charlie Brown, a name which he was so proud, loved the outdoors. In his youth he was an avid hunter and trapper. He then joined the Navy at the age of 17, and spent 2 years in the south Pacific during WWII. Upon his return, he went to work for Mobil Oi where he served faithfully for 38 years. He became a 32nd degree Mason after the war. He met his wife Janet when buying his first new car in Paulsboro, NJ, and they were joined in marriage on February 25, 1950. He then moved to their new home in West Deptford, NJ, where he served his church faithfully over his lifetime, being known as a man who could get things done. He valued work and family, and was blessed being able to enjoy the latter in his 32 years of retirement. He loved his lawn, clean cars, neatly cut hair, and gardening. He had a spirit that no one ever forgot, but just to make sure, he would always tell everyone that he was “Charlie Brown.

Charlie is sorely missed by his three children Deborah Anne Richman, Judith Dianne Brown, and Charles Douglas Brown, and his daughter-in-law Denise Brown, Charlie was predeceased by his mother, Florence E. Brown and father Thomas E. Brown, and brother Robert G. Brown.

My Father, my guide, my helper. I miss you every day and remember all the little sayings you used to calm me down. No one loved his children and family more than you! Love you forever.

Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. Especially recently on your special day - 2/4/27!
Until I see you again, I’ll love you always, Dad.
