Getting Started

Welcome

Hello

Thank you so much for your interest in organizing a personal fund-raising campaign to benefit The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.

Every 65 seconds someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. With more than 5.7 million cases in the United States alone, it has become the 6th leading cause of death in our nation. Our mission is to beat Alzheimer’s disease by funding innovative world-class research, which has already led to improved treatments and helped many families cope with an Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis.

By holding your own event, no matter how big or small, you really are making a difference. And whether you’ve held lots of events before, or it’s your very first time, we hope you’ll find the information provided below helpful. If you have any further questions you can reach us at 212-915-1322 or email info@alzinfo.orgThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Online Fundraising – Getting Started

Register

Upload an image of your choosing and create a message. Your message should include why you are helping to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research. If it is in honor or memory of a loved one, be sure to include a bit about this person and why you are honoring him or her. The top fundraiser will be featured in Preserving Your Memory”: The Magazine of Health and Hope.

Ask for donations

Many people are used to donating to charities, and once they find out why you are joining in this campaign, they will want to help. Create an email with a link to your Challenge Profile and send it to your family, friends, and colleagues asking them to donate. It’s that easy!

Tell a friend

Do you know someone else who has been touched by the devastation of Alzheimer’s disease? Ask them to start their own page!

Social Networking

Facebook Causes is a great way to help bring awareness and much needed funds to Alzheimer’s research. If you already have a profile on Facebook, click here to let your Facebook friends know that you need their help.

Website banners

If you already have a website, or know of a person or company that can put a banner on their website, here are different sizes to choose from to get the word out: Banners Click Here

Ask again

It is a busy time of year. Sometimes your family, friends, and colleagues may be too swamped with work or summer plans to open each and every email they receive. It’s okay to keep asking. No one wants to be a bother – but a friendly reminder can help you reach your fundraising goal!
