Dr. Sinha is an experienced synthetic and medicinal chemist. He oversees all the chemistry projects, including the ones lead by Drs. Anjana Sinha and Yashoda Sunkari. Dr. Sinha is also involved in the design and generation of entirely novel molecules. He has an extensive knowledge of synthesizing natural compounds and derivatives. His primary focus is on identifying small drug-like compounds that can easily penetrate and accumulate in the brain such as Gleevec derivatives and other compounds. In collaboration with Drs. Marc Flajolet and Anjana Sinha, they are carrying out pre-clinical studies in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease for one of the Gleevec derivative compounds.
