Barry R. Sloane, 65, Chairman, President, and CEO of Century Bank and Century Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNBKA) a 51-year-old regional bank with 29 branches in greater Boston and $6.4 billion of total banking assets.

He is Treasurer and Trustee of the Savings Bank Employee Retirement System (SBERA). He was awarded the Silver Beaver by the Boston Council, Boy Scouts of America, in 2007. He holds a BA and MPA degrees from Harvard University.

Mr. Sloane’s charitable activities include: Chairman and Treasurer of the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research at The Rockefeller University; Trustee Emeritus of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center; Trustee of Hebrew SeniorLife; Trustee of Massachusetts General Hospital; Member of the Corporation and Audit Committee, MassGeneral Brigham; Member of the Community Bank Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Mr. Sloane is married to Dr. Candace Lapidus Sloane; the former Chair of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medical Science at Brown Medical School, and a member of the medical staff at Children’s Hospital Boston. They have three sons: Marshall II, Jack II, and Charles S.M.
