Rose Black was born in Mexia, Texas on July 17, 1927. Always a kind and gentle soul, she passed away peacefully on February 22, 2017.
She is survived by her two daughters Cinda Kraft and husband Robert, and Candace Greene and husband Daryl; three grandchildren, Kathryn Kraft Greving and husband Bill, Jennifer Kraft Isernhagen and husband Jonathan, and John Greene; three great-grandchildren, David Greving, Thomas Isernhagen, and Allison Rose Isernhagen; two loving sisters, Sylvia Johnson and Mary Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, AC Black.
Rose graduated from Mexia High School in 1944. As a child she was a founding member of the Northside Baptist Church of Mexia. She remained active in church throughout her life and she enjoyed Bible study at the Memory Care unit where she lived the last five years.
Cooking and baking brought her great joy. She also loved to sing and dance. Always enthusiastic and energetic, her family sometimes found her singing and dancing in the kitchen while she was cooking or baking.
Being a child of the depression and a teen during WWII, she was exemplary of that generation: she seldom complained, she just made the best of whatever situation challenged her. She remained sweet and continued to try to do everything to the best of her ability.
