Whereas I only had the opportunity to interact with Gunter a few times, it was obvious from those meetings that he was a genuinely wonderful person. I continue to meet with customers who also were taken by his personal warmth and his engineering know-how long after his last visit to see them. My deepest condolences go out to those closest to him.

I worked for Gunter for over 23 years. I have worked at many companies in my career but I can say without reservation that Gunter was the best boss I ever had. He was a kind and sharing individual. What I remember with fondness was my first personal conversation I had with him. I told him I was born and raised in S. California. He said I was lucky to live in the southwest United States and told me how he and Lotte literally lived in their car every weekend for the first couple of years he lived in California. He and Lotte had been to more places in the southwest than I had in my entire life. I was humbled.

I am very sorry to hear of his passing. He was so kind to me. I will never forget him.

The most vivid memory I have of Gunter is from a trip to China and Hong Kong. It was at the end of the trip. Gunter, Fred Harmon, and I were going to a restaurant at the top of a hill. On the walk to the restaurant, we passed through some automated entry gates.

Gunter asked us where the relays were located. Neither Fred nor I said anything (Gunter was just smiling). I mean here we are, two experienced relay salesmen, and Gunter is taking us to school. On the way back out, Gunter did it again, still smiling.

To this day, I can't go anywhere without trying to spot the relay applications in everyday life (they're almost everywhere).

Gunter, I know you're really smiling now. The student finally learned the lesson. : )

Gunter used to come in to my territory and we had to always eat at the same restaurant and spent most of the time talking about European History. He had insights that always amazed me. He truly was a multi-talented man. He was due to come in on 9/11'01 and never did (of course) . Sorry to miss those conversations.

Gunter you made a big impact on my life both personally and professionally. I am one of the many that wouldn’t be the person they are without having met you. You will be missed but never forgotten!

I always liked Gunter...amiable and soften spoken. Prayers for Lottie, Angie and grandkids.

Signed for Leonard and Kathy Stinar, as well.

Mr. Rueb was one of a kind.

Such a kind and caring man.

A wonderful man that I had the honor, and pleasure to work for at American Zettler.

May God Bless the Rueb family as they go through this difficult time.

My deepest condolences are with Gunter Rueb’s family. It is an honor to have met such a gracious gentleman. His work ethic was one I admired. My fondest memories of Mr. Rueb were the many conversations I had the pleasure to share with him (I’ve been employed with American Zettler since June 14, 2000). Even if his office door was closed, all you had to do was knock and he welcomed you with open arms. He always made time to talk about life, family, travel and wine. And I’ll never forget, if Gunter was in town and there was an afterhours gathering, he was always the guest of honor and the life of the party! His heartfelt smile will surely be missed by all!

My prayers and love go out to the family of Mr. Rueb. I worked for Mr. Rueb at American Zettler and can attest to the fact that not only was he a brilliant man, he was also kind and very honorable. His smile would light up a room. Mr. Rueb will be terribly missed and always remembered!
