Alzheimer’s Research at the Fisher Centers

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation primarily funds two centers located in New York City.
The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at The Rockefeller University
Paul Greengard, Ph.D. has directed the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Disease Research at The Rockefeller University since 1995. He has published over 1,000 major publications in the field of Alzheimer’s research.
Dr. Greengard is a member of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Among his many awards and honors are the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, the 1997 Charles A. Dana Award for Pioneering Achievements in Health and the 1991 NAS Award in the Neurosciences.
The Fisher Alzheimer’s Disease Education and Resources Program at the New York University Langone Medical Center
Barry Reisberg, M.D. is Director of the Fisher Alzheimer’s Disease Education and Resources Program at the New York University Langone Medical Center. He has directed research over the past three decades which has significantly advanced current understanding and treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). He was the first to describe many of the most important symptoms of AD and the characteristic clinical course of the disease. He has published over 200 major clinical and research findings. Dr. Barry Reisberg was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Research by the International Conferences on Alzheimer’s Disease (ICAD). In March 2011, Dr. Reisberg received the "Distinguished Scientist Award" from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry.
