What is an agency on aging?

Agencies on aging are non-profit organizations funded by the state that provide and coordinate information, support and resources for elderly members of the community. They provide free referral and counseling services and can be valuable sources of advice on all aspects of aging. Each state has at least one agency on aging, and some states have many local agencies that serve individual counties, regions or metropolitan areas.
