Dr. Paul Greengard - Managing Chairman of the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation
Director of the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Disease Research at The Rockefeller University
Dr. Paul Greengard was awarded the year 2000 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his pioneering work in delineating how neurons communicate with one another in the brain. During a half-century of research, he has been lauded for his singular contribution to our understanding of the complex signaling process that occur within each of the 100 billion or more nerve cells in the human brain. He is the Vincent Astor Professor at The Rockefeller University and Director of the Fisher Center laboratory. Dr. Greengard is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences and has received more than 50 awards and honors throughout his career. He has authored nearly 1000 scientific publications. |

Kent Karosen - President and CEO of the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation
Mr. Karosen is the Managing Director at Cantor Fitzgerald, LP in the office of the Chairman. Karosen brings almost two decades of financial expertise and management experience to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation where he has been a board member since 2005.
Born in Kansas City, Kent Karosen graduated from Kenyon College with an AB in History and with extensive study in economics. He presently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Intrepid Museum Foundation and is the Chairman of its Investment Committee. In May of 2001, Karosen was named an Honorary Commodore in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for the 1st Southern Region. |

Mr. Sloane is Co-President and Co-CEO of Century Bank in Massachusetts. He is a Director of eSpeed and a Trustee of the Savings Bank Employee Retirement Assoc (SBERA), the Intrepid Museum Foundation, the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an Overseer of the Children's Hospital of Boston, a Director of the American Skin Association, and the Boston Police Athletic League. He holds BA and MPA degrees from Harvard University. |

Gerry Byrne - formed Gerry Byrne Media Partners in 2002 as a full-service media and marketing consultancy to the entertainment, communications, and media industries. Primary clients include Parade Magazine, Reed Business Information, and Tribeca Entertainment. He is also chairman and founder of the newly created Quills Literacy Foundation, a Reed supported initiative, and he is leading the launch of The Quills, a consumer-driven books awards program which will debut on the NBC/Universal owned stations in October 2005.

Hadley M. Fisher - A native of NY, is part of the third generation of Fisher Brothers, a family owned real estate and financial business. Hadley concentrates on researching, creating and capturing unique opportunities in the real estate arena. He has recently relocated to Florida, however plans to keep close ties in NY. He is a newcomer to Brown Harris Stevens, but brings an extensive background in the real estate industry. He is licensed in both Florida and NY specializing in both residential and commercial real estate.
Hadley graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Tourism Management from New York University. Remaining involved with NYU, he is a Founding Member of New York University’s Pineapple Association and a member of the NYU Young Alumni Leadership Circle. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, as well as New York’s Finest Foundation where he serves as Secretary. He also serves on the Board of the Long Island City Cultural Alliance, and is on the Board of LD Access. Additionally, Hadley has become involved with Florida Atlantic University. |

Betsy Gotbaum - is the Public Advocate of New York City. A longtime civic leader, this is her first elective office. She is a Democrat.
Gotbaum, a trained teacher, became involved in civic affairs in the 1970s, while serving on the staff of former Mayor John Lindsay. In the 1980s she served as the Executive Director of the New York Police Foundation, a non profit group which supports the New York City Police Department.

Mr. Rubin is a graduate of Penn State in accounting and finance. He serves on the Boards of The Greater Jacksonville Area USO and Ribbons of Comfort Foundation, Inc. Murray and his wife Nadine manage The Murray and Nadine Rubin Charitable Foundation, Inc., an organization they formed to focus on the needs of children and seniors. |

Richard Salem - Richard J. Salem is the Chairman of Enable America, our nation’s first not-for-profit organization solely committed to the reduction of unemployment among persons with disabilities. His other business interests include serving as the Chief Executive Officer of two companies developing and deploying innovative technology solution sets: Clean Water International, which converts wastewater and solids into renewable resources, and Thermal Matrix International, which integrates sensors into “suicide bomber detector” networks. Mr. Salem also maintains a limited law practice, Salem Law Group, with offices in Florida, Washington, DC, and New York City, which, together with strategic partner firms, provides experienced counsel and support in the realm of “business to government” affairs and conflict resolution.
A graduate of Duke Law School, he is a lifetime member of its Board of Visitors, and serves on the Board of Trustees of Belmont Abbey College, his undergraduate Alma Mater. He recently completed terms on a National Institutes of Health Advisory Council, a Federal Judiciary Nominating Commission, and currently serves on the Boards of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the National Organization on Disabilities, and the Stern Parkinson’s Research Center.
Mr. Salem is married to the former Eileen Monley and has two daughters, Susan and Elizabeth. They reside in Tampa, Florida. He maintains an active role in local and state community and civic affairs, and enjoys biking, snow skiing, reading, and music. |
