Sponsorship Guidelines

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation’s website, ALZinfo.org, is expanding the placement of sponsorship displays to include additional select sections of the site. The revenue generated by the sponsorships will help support the Fisher Center Foundation’s ability to provide resources and high-quality information into the Cause, Care and Cure of Alzheimer’s Disease through the website.

Content and Format

Sponsorship displays on ALZinfo.org websites are designed in the well-known banner format, appearing either at the bottom of the page, the top of the page or in the right hand margin. Along with paid sponsorship displays, ALZinfo banners are placed on the site to help promote various ALZinfo services and sections of the website that are of interest to users. The pages within the website are selected for Sponsorship display based on site traffic, provided that these pages are deemed to be appropriate for Sponsorship displays by the ALZinfo Internal Review Committee, which comprises staff from key areas within the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Disease Research at The Rockefeller University, Alzinfo, and Board Members.

"Pop-ups", "In Vue" and "Interstitial" displays are not permitted.

The paid sponsorship displays feature a header that alerts users that the banner is a paid sponsorship. If users elect to click on a sponsorship display, a notification page appears, containing appropriate disclaimer language and informing users that they will be leaving the ALZinfo website in order to view the website associated with the sponsorship display. The user then has two options- (1) click the "YES" button and the website of the sponsorship display will appear in a new browser window, or (2) click the "NO" button to close the buffer page and continue viewing the ALZinfo website.

Cookies

The ALZinfo website may use "cookies" to deliver targeted sponsorship displays.

The ALZinfo.org website uses cookies to control how many times an image is shown to the same user, as identified by the browser ID number. Sponsors may use aggregate cookie data to measure their effectiveness, i.e., how many viewers have clicked on a particular sponsorship display.

Sponsorship displays on the ALZinfo website do not collect any personally identifiable information on individual visitors. ALZinfo does collect non-medical aggregate data on visitors, such as time of day and Web browser type. Such information may be shared with sponsors to determine their effectiveness.
