^[1]Barry R. Sloane, 57, is President & CEO of Century Bank and Century Bancorp, Inc. Century (NASDAQ: CNBKA) is a 44 year old regional bank with 26 branches in greater Boston, and $3 billion of total banking assets.

He is also a Director and Chairman of the Compensation Committee of BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: BGCP), and a Trustee of SBERA (Savings Bank Employee Retirement Association).

Mr. Sloane’s charitable activities include: Chairman and Treasurer of the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research at The Rockefeller University; Trustee of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center; Trustee Emeritus, USS Intrepid Museum Foundation; Trustee of Hebrew SeniorLife; and a Trustee of the Massachusetts General Hospital.

He was awarded the Silver Beaver by the Boston Council, Boy Scouts of America, in 2005.

He holds BA and MPA degrees from Harvard University.

Mr. Sloane is married to Dr. Candace Lapidus Sloane; Chair of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine and Clinical Asst. Prof. of Pediatrics at Brown Medical School. They have three sons: Marshall II, Jack II, and Charles S.M.
